Steve Young came to Heritage Harvest Farm from Reddemeade Equestrian Center where he taught and
coached both the hunter/jumper and dressage teams. He has trained several horses through second and
third level dressage obtaining scores at 1st, 2nd and 3rd level recognized shows and qualifying for a USDF bronze medal. He has also trained horses for hunter/jumper competition. He is an accomplished instructor offering private and group lessons to students from beginners to advanced. He is a graduate of Houghton College in Houghton, NY.

Dawn Varney
Instructor (Lessons and Summer Camp)

Dawn Varney has been teaching at Heritage Harvest for several years now. She teaches riding at summer camp and riding lessons all year round. Dawn has over 20 years experience working with horses across several disciplines. She attended Cazenovia College in the Equine Studies program and competed on the Varisity Hunt Seat team earning several Regional Team Championships. She served as an Adjunct Hunt Seat Instructor at the college. She taught at Zephyr Farm in Mahopac, NY teaching lessons, pony camp and Girl and Boy Scout merit badge classes. She spent two years as instructor and pony camp director at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York. She has also worked as a Trail Ride guide, and as a demonstration rider for horse sales. Dawn is currently offering lessons in both Western and English style riding to students age 4 to Adult. She is excellent with both beginning and more advanced riders.

Veterinarian

Dr. Jenna Little has been running her own veterinary practice, Heritage Haven Equine Clinic since 2010.  She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.S. degree in Animal Science in 2002, and received her DVM from the St. George’s University College of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, West Indies in 2006.  She has worked in private equine practice since completing her internship at Ledgewood Equine Clinic in Ontario, New York in 2007.  Her experience includes serving clients competing in a wide variety of disciplines including standardbred and thoroughbred racing, hunter/jumper, dressage, pleasure driving, western speed, eventing and English and Western pleasure as well as clients who enjoy trail riding, breeding and equine companionship.
Dr. Jenna grew up here on the farm where her family raised and trained Thoroughbred and Morgan horses.  She retrained two retired race horses to compete in local and 4-H hunter/jumper shows, and she trained Morgan horses to compete on the A Circuit in English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving classes.
She currently lives here on the farm and is working to complete her Acupuncture Certification from the Chi Instutie in Florida.
